My first sojourn to Bangkok was many decades ago and I remember the traffic back then was something that had to be seen to be believed, with 10 lanes, choked mostly with bicycles and motor bikes on Rama 1V
Now it’s cars and trucks and unbelievably more lanes as the freeway construction continues everywhere !
Sadly pollution in Bangkok has choked the skies, at least until the rains arrive, but this makes tonight’s sunset gorgeous !
It’s always such a reality check to come back to a big city in Asia.
Want your teeth whitened? A tattoo. A massage? Some medicinal marijuana? An individually wrapped banana? It's all here.
The smells, the crowds, the traffic, the smiles, the poverty, the luxury, the billboards, the tiny food carts, the gorgeous ladies lining the lanes looking for business, the 7/11 stores on every street, the mass of massage parlours, the buzzing alleyways and best of all the amazing food. Gotta love Asia.
The view from our room isn’t too bad either.
Tomorrow the weekend markets await.
