If you’re looking for the authentic floating market experience, then Damnoen Saduak is NOT the one to visit as it is 90% tourist shops.
Still, cruising the backwaters in the Khlongs was a lot of fun and a peaceful start to the day until the driver pulled out all stops and started gunning our long boat through the canals.
Our best purchase was a bag of pre-cut guava with chilli sugar for dipping.
We did see lovely Kling-dude dwellings and a temple on our tour but for the price.,,,,???
There are other floating markets here in Bangkok and we have a few more days to discover them.
